B-42 Trial for Postmenopausal Women with Breast Cancer Qualifications
For postmenopausal women who have already had their breast cancer surgically removed and have taken 5 yrs of hormonal therapy to prevent their cancer from returning.
The cancer could have been stage I, II, or IIIa and estrogen and/or progesterone positive
Some or all of the hormonal therapy had to include an aromatase inhibitor.
B-42 Trial Goals
This study will help determine if taking the aromatase inhibitor called Letrozole for an additional 5 yrs is beneficial when compared to a placebo.
